Chris, im not looking down on anyone, as im sure nobody else is. I think its great the way the owner has advertised the car and i wish him every luck in selling it. After the demo swb and now this, i think everyone has under priced their tribute....

Looks good to me, personally I think the wire wheels look great on it and the bodywork looks superb. Interior maybe a bit red but lets be honest you wouldn't drive one of these to try and shrink into the background. the only negative points are the lack of headlining and that bloody awful Mondeo grill.
Hope he gets the asking price.

I thought £20k was a bit strong but £30k is just taking the piss. It's a high mileage 1.8 mx5 wrapped in fibreglass!!!! No disrespect to anybody, but think what cars you can buy with £30k. It may turn a few heads but it's bright yellow, a Morris Minor that colour would turn a few heads.

Yes the price is too high , its been relisted in auction format with reserve and up to £5k so far. Be interesting to see where it goes but I can't see it going much over £10k, and "reserve not met" !

Its "only" an MX5 with a body kit , true but that's missing the point ! Any kit car is a pile of bits until you build it. looks at all the Cobra kits based on a Cortina or Sierra ie the Sumo, all of which change hands now for over £20k

I personally never look down on anyone else's car that has any sort of time and effort put into it. ......[/QUOTE]

Should we say
"beauty is in the eye of the registered keeper" and "there, but for a fist full of cash go I"

At the end-of-the-day it's not about what it's worth but what someone will pay for it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking down at anybody's kit. Having just built a 300z I know how much work goes into a kit and the time spent working out problems, what I'm saying the price is way to high for what it is. For that type of money you could buy a top end Hawk Cobra or other high end kit cars, or even an E Type FHC, fully restored TR6 etc etc. The price is my issue, but I suppose 'nothing ventured nothing gained'.

My feeling is that for £30k you could have one built for you to a similar/better/own spec on a much lower mileage and better engined donor.

Its cars like this that make the average "kit car" look too expensive , unrefined and un viable . At just over £5k its an attractive alternative to most "kits". You could buy six of these for the price of the MX5 kit above !!

How could we comment on that Chris? Literally not enough superlatives for that one! I loved that build, you really did smash ig out of the park. Out of curiosity are there moulds of this, or just a one off?

If you look at the bid history it is very difficult not to smell a very large rat.
