Default Ford Pinto engine

HI everyone, my names luke and im 15 nearly 16 me and my dad are currently rebuilding a bond bug, well two, one for me and one for him.

We have been to a few rallies and seen quite a few and i thought why not stick a bigger engine into one. Bearing in mind the engine compartment is reasonably small, it fits a motorbike engine, something like a yamaha R1.

I want to get away from using a bike engine if possible, but as i was trauling through my many kitcar magazines and i have come across the ford pinto engine. It looks fairly slimline which is the main thing.

Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice, im looking for a slimline engine over 100 hp but fairly small. When i get a few minutes i will measure the original engine for width and length including the gearbox.

Thanks in advance luke

I saw a Bug with a bike engine in at Santa pod a few years ago.
sounded amazing and lifted the front wheel off the line.
looked a quite easy instalation, there are lots of bits these days to convert bike engines for cars. There is a kit to put one in a Mini, perhaps you could pinch bits from that.
Keep it Orange BTW

Pinto is too heavy in my opinion.
Nissan Micra 16v are good and plenty about.
