Default After reading that other guys advert...

... I thought I would have a go. You will have to imagine a selection of suitable pictures. I have just included one interior and exterior picture here so you can see what I am talking about. I don't particularly want to sell but for £15 on eBay it might be tempting to see who bites. Maybe in the spring...

Anyone want to critique my style?
Anyone want to buy my cars?

Welcome to a unique opportunity to purchase a unique vehicle. This, the original Z300S Barchetta, was the vision of one man. He wanted the grace and the lines of the stunning sports cars from the late ‘50s and ‘60s but also wanted modern reliability, function and pace.

The styling was developed over a 3 month period and blends hints of the Maserati 300S, Ferrari 166 Barchetta with a myriad of other subtle touches to create a unique and beautiful car that carefully avoids being a replica of anything.

Once this design had been refined to the creator’s satisfaction he searched for a company capable of turning the numerous sketches, doodles and details into reality. For the body work Tribute Automotive were selected as they had experience of creating period looking vehicles and Chris Welch was renowned for his design flair and ability to create effortlessly beautiful lines. The creation and fitting of the bodywork was performed ‘in house’ at Tributes workshop before displayed as the official factory show car at numerous car shows with photos appearing in magazines.

The interior has been successfully re-trimmed by another set of specialist craftsmen. The use of subtle black and tan leather avoids the garish red that appears the default on other models. The quality and attention to detail on the interior is clear to see with new surprised and delight each time another detail is spotted. The floor carpets are edged with the same leather as the door cars, the little zip fitted beneath the hand brake gator to allow adjustment, the leather hoop door pulls and perhaps the nicest touch is the ‘James Bond’ style secret panel that pulls down to reveal all of the original modern switch gear carefully repositioned. This is no hardship car and comes with heated seats, air conditioning, electric windows and roof.

The exterior is glorious in the deep and lustrous black with good panel alignment as you would expect from a car out of the Tribute workshop. The wheels are the preferable 42mm hub wires originally from a 1950’s Aston Martin. This ensures they have the thicker spokes so necessary to cope with the power and torque from the lusty 2.8 litre straight six engine. This is the creamy smooth BMW engine that has been lightly ‘breathed’ upon with a Cold Air Intake (CAI) kit and optimised air inlet system fitted. This allows you to flow down the road on a wave of torque or chase the rev limiter as you flick from apex to apex. The twin stainless steel exhausts exiting from the rear give a deep and tuneful sound track to your chosen driving style.

This car, a bespoke creation and not a kit, gives you the style and ambiance of the 1950’s with the convenience of a modern sports car. The wire wheels with their relatively high profile tyres transform the driving experience from the modern stiff ride to a far more period appropriate softer and more comfortable experience. They also give you the ability to use the throttle to adjust your cornering attitude at far more acceptable speeds that the modern ‘stuck to the tarmac’ sports cars.

A beautiful car for cruising the boulevards, fast touring across the continent or chasing down your dreams of Fangio. This exceptional creation is offered for the extremely attractive price of just £22,000 pounds. Viewing and full inspection welcome, in fact recommended, and possible part exchange against a small boat might be considered.

WCA - I think you are definitely heading in the right direction.

I'm supposed to be doing something else at the moment, so I'll provide some proper suggestions later on.

However, the following sentence doesn't read correctly and has the slight whiff of a "Nigerian scam" about it.

Nick - First things first... your car, your rules.

So rather than re-write your wording, I've tried to simply rearrange your initial post where possible.

I've removed the part about the price on the basis that is will be in main part of the advert listing.

Also I wasn't sure if/how you wanted to cover the fact there is a Z300 kit available.

Either way, this is nothing more than a suggestion, so do with it what you will.

Cheers, Paul.

Welcome to this opportunity to purchase the original Z300S Barchetta.

This car combines the grace and lines of the stunning sports cars from the late ‘50s and ‘60s with the convenience of reliability, function and pace found in a modern sports car.

The styling blends hints of the Maserati 300S and Ferrari 166 Barchetta with a myriad of other subtle touches to create a unique car that carefully avoids being a replica of anything.

The beautiful Italian styling was created using British craftsmanship and built on a bed rock of reliable German engineering in the shape of a ?YYYY? BMW Z3 2.8.

Chris Welch at Tribute Automotive was commission to turn my numerous sketches, doodles and details into the reality that you see today.
( Think of Tribute as an automotive tailor, creating a bespoke fibreglass "suit" that fits the BMW perfectly, with panel gaps and alignment to factory standard. )

Final bodywork preparation was carried out by ?name? before they applied the gloriously deep black paint.

?name? re-trimmed the interior using a subtle blend of black and tan leather.

Their quality and attention to detail is evident in the little touches, which include a zip fitted beneath the hand brake gaiter to allow adjustment, leather hoop door pulls and floor carpets edged with the same leather as the door cars.

There is even a ‘James Bond’ style secret panel that pulls down to reveal some of the original modern switch gear carefully repositioned.

?name? built the twin stainless steel exhausts that exit from the rear to give a deep and tuneful sound track to your chosen driving style.

The thick spoke wire wheels originally graced a 1950’s Aston Martin and Orson Engineering provided 42mm hub wheel adaptors.

The relatively high profile tyres transform the driving experience from a modern stiff ride, to a far more period appropriate softer and more comfortable experience.
( They also give you the ability to use the throttle to adjust your cornering attitude at far more acceptable speeds than the modern ‘stuck to the tarmac’ sports cars. )

Standard BMW features have been retained, including heated seats, air conditioning, electric windows and soft top roof.

The creamy smooth BMW 2.8 litre straight six engine has been lightly ‘breathed’ upon with a Cold Air Intake (CAI) kit and optimised air inlet system fitted.
( This allows you to flow down the road on a wave of torque. or chase the rev limiter as you flick from apex to apex. )

The V5C is in my name and have been correctly updated by the DVLA to show the Make and Model as "Z300S Barchetta". *

? Other standard info - Mileage / MOT / Tax ?

This car has been displayed at numerous car shows and photos of it have appeared in several car magazines.

In fact, this unique design proved so popular, that Tribute Automotive now offer a kit to replicate my original.

A beautiful car for cruising the boulevards, fast touring across the continent, or chasing down your dreams of being Fangio.

Viewing and full inspection welcome, in fact recommended, and possible part exchange against a small boat might be considered.

* Assuming you ever got that copy/replica problem resolved.

Ian, thanks for spotting the typo's - I would properly proof read before actually advertising.

Paul - I agree with some of what you have done and IF I decide to advertise mine I may borrow bits. V5C is correct. I wasn't sure about mentioning the kit versions now available either.

The interesting bit will be when I have to describe the fact it comes with both the Z300S and the 250SWB bonnet options. That will make it unique!

Default Advert comment's

I too don't like 'surprised and delighted', nor the expression 'hardship car', or the phrase 'flow down the road', oh and the typo 'door cars' should be 'door cards'. Otherwise all good!
Good luck with selling it.

I agree that these are a bit flowery and probably influenced by too many car magazine reviews. The aim is to appeal to the rich but ignorant and sell the dream as well as the car.

:-)

Don't bother with ebay if you want top price . Take it to one of the Classic Auctions such as Brightwells . They take good "recreations" and the like . Don't need to mention the words "Kit Car", more the bespoke / hand built / crafted nature of your car!
Only people with money and the "dream" use these places to buy.
