Keith – I am sure it must be very satisfying to see the bodywork you are creating from scratch come together.
Good luck, Paul.

Thanks Paul yes quite pleased with it so far but wish I had more time to work on it. Have made my mind up on the wings I am going to use the Morgan stile wings, and have decided to change the engine. Always wanted to put in a v8 engine so going to bite the built and fit a Rover 3.5 v8 in.

Hi been a bit slow over the last few weeks with work and home, but have now finished all the body panels. I have the doors to make yet but they will be left till later after I have removed the engine and mocked up the rover v8. So have removed the body and put it aside for now, so it does feel a big step. 20181203_093128 (1).jpg

The photos show where I and building the car on the mezzanine floor above my workshop only way up is a ladder at the moment and a friend has a fork lift for heavy bits, but the best place I have to build.

How about deleting the headlight pods and replacing the headlights with large stand alone lights, but keeping the existing wings as I think they look much better than cycle wings. As per ss100 in the link, maybe just a tad smaller with the headlights!

Truly awesome. I love the idea of building on a mezzanine floor, so you can chuck stuff off the edge!

Yes nice work space but poor access, but have not got that frustrated yet, to start throwing things over the edge!

Well 12 months has come and past since I started work on the car, in the last month or so seems I have gone more back than forward. Taken out all the floors inner wheel arches, but this has allowed me to move out the rear wheel arches so they are parallel to the wheels now. Re fitted the floors and made a boot space to go behind the seats will have a fold down door fitted latter. I have also made a role cage this will help with seat belt mounts etc. 20190116_162843 (1).jpg

Been slow progress over the last month but have fitted the top to the front bulkhead and have installed the steering column, from a Corsa and other bits all works nice and smoothly and have fitted the brake pedal and brake master cylinder. Had to move this over to miss the steering column motor, as it is going to be an automatic gear box I linked the brake and clutch pedal together and moved it over enough, small steps but going forwards. 20190205_195417 (1).jpg

Thank you much appreciated. I am trying to do this build as best I can on a small budget so having to pick up a mix and match of parts, so takes a bit to think out side of the box to get round problems. But get there in the end if not on the first try.

I have always had to work on ' The object is no expense' principle. Time richer cash poorer. I don't think it is possible to get it right the first time because when I have I immediately find a better way.
