The mk1 front doesnt allow for the proportions to look right. Progress hit a wall and stopped for 6 months. So the pre made panels should give it a direction. I probably should of gone down the 2vev path but didn't at the time. Plus my car is showing serious signs of rust so I'm trying to find a way of getting panels set up so I can save my donor from turning to dust before I get to drive it. A garage I used to do some repairs shut down and I think they damaged my body work and the rust has set in because of their incompetence. Probably why they shut down. Peoples exhausts were falling off. Etc .

They were a local company in the lovely town of Aldershot. Many army soldiers brought their sports cars to be modified and eventually found that the work done was shoddy. My car started off as an import with no rust and it came back after I asked them to put a stone chip treatment that rust is coming through so obviously they had just sprayed my car with black paint and not the thick tar stuff they were spose to do. Knowing that our roads are plastered with salt in the winter I invested in the treatment. Life sucks sometimes.

So if I can get the Alfa/fiat panels on I might be able to save my car from turning to dust. Harsh but that's life. Has a way of reminding you how puny man is and that we can only control so much, nature eventually bites back eg the English weather. Rain and more rain. Plus mans greed.

I've ordered a front wing and front end for the Alfa. And what I'm hoping is the rear wing for the fiat . So fingers crossed something arrives in the next two weeks. If it is what I think then possibly. I'll get a bonnet on the way and a passenger wing and go from their. The Dino rear I've been told takes alot longer so maybe new year will give me the answer I've been looking for. Id like to pop into the workshop next week to apply some rust treatment to keep it at bay. At the moment the back end can be adapted to work with Alfa front so that's a plus just needs a solid section placed across the wing and the taillight plate sunk in. They do rear wings as well so that will cut down on time. All profiles matching both sides saving tine and effort. Just needs blending into the swb roof line

I Suggest you slap a load of Vactan over the exposed metal - its army grade rust inhibitor favoured by the land rover and aircooled communites.

Doesn't matter which body you end up with - mx5's need to be maintained against corrosion. I had my sills etc done before I commenced with the bodywork of my roadster.

Thankfully the Z3 seems to have been prepared much better against corrosion.

Im thinking Toyota MR-S donor built like the RS200 kit.
I always thought the Tribute rs200 deserved more fans.

The Mr s has a similar system to the z3 with its panels so they all pop off.

I wonder if dsg4me could combine the swb roof line with the Alfa Romeo junior 1600 gt . Eg swb down to the window line then Alfa down to the ground. I was thinking intercepter hard lines at the bottom and softer flowing lines at the top. That kind of thing. 70's meets 60's.

How about this version of the 250
"Tour de France"
Looks like kobra front will lend to the design and 250 swb rear could be modified

https://youtu.be/f1m_v6FFTq0

Video shows that these long distance racers were dainty, stripped down interiors and their v12 just 200bhp

I love the blue period colour and the black exhaust isn't a trip hazard

Maybe this is a direction for the future of kit cars

I understand why people spend a fortune on making Ferrari and Lamborghini replicas. Some are pretty convincing too even if the donor was a Peugeot.

But there are lots more interesting shapes out there, plenty of tiny bespoke companies making super / hyper cars.

In truth you wouldn't have to make an exact replica there are very few that have ever seen the likes of it.

Heres a few for inspiration -

How about one of these
A sketch of concept car with its roof removed.
I would love one of these
Im sure the panels could easily be draped over Z3 Z4 or maybe E36 Bmw Convertible would give you 4 seat fun

But I know this brand doesn't take kindly to people being influenced by their styling but if they don't want to build it

Go on Chris, build a B*ntley.
What could possibly go wrong?

It sold within minutes of being listed. Slightly under-priced I think.....and they took an offer.

Call me nutty but I would like to see what an swb roof line would look on an Alfa Romeo 1750 gta body. Just curious . Hard broad lines like shoulders with the swoopy lines of the swb at the top.
