Default V8 conversion

Hi guys
Does anybody have any experience or know of anyone who has done a rover V8 conversion in a MX5 . I am thinking of a V8 and Holley carb so don't need to worry about fuel injection .
Cheers

That's a super description of the process and really helpful with all the details however...
"210 horses with 230lbft torque" but at what cost in weight.
I would have thought that the all-alloy Mazda V6 out of a Ford Probe would have been a better match. Similar to that MX5/Z3 conversion from Florida.
I know someone who has done this a few times with Sylva Furies.

Not in an Mx5, but I have done plenty of RV8 conversions.

My advice, for what it is worth is not to bother. It will cost a load of money to get that engine much over 200bhp, exhausts, cooling and transmission will need a load of fabrication..

I plan to go turbo, there is a guy on the mx5 nutz forum knocking up kits to take scooby turbos. An easy 200bhp for about a grand is a much simpler job.

The RV8 does sound nice -agreed.

Loads of torgue isn't much use on a lightwieght mx5, it will just spin up the rear wheels.
