Regardless of the weather I hope to be there on Sunday. The only good thing about not having my Sportster on the road is that the car I use has a roof!

Unless there is a major change in the outlook, I guess I'll be going on Monday.

BBC weather just said Monday will now be dry and sunny but wrap up warm - its going to be cold!
The current plan is we'll be driving up late Sunday morning (or later if its chucking it down) and staying overnight so should be around Sunday afternoon and Monday.

Well, it's chucking it down with rain here, but the forecast says clearing south-east and were heading noth-west.
Still got a few jobs left to do on the car this morning (like refitting the hood, bilge pump, etc) so hope to be heading off about midday.
See you all later...

Last minute change of plan due to the weather. As I hope to meet drivers of open cars not much point in walking around in the rain! I will try and make it tomorrow, Monday.

Have just refitted the grille and washed the marlin, even gave the bonnet a slight polish so if the weathers good we'll be there tomorrow trying to win the award for "Most Unfinished Sportster on the Road" !!

Sorry you didn't make it this weekend, but you would have got very cold and wet, probably both! Even with the trusty Marlin hood fitted, the strong cold wind was challenging the full ouput of the mini heater.
I have a few pictures, but not many as there were no Sportsters (apart from the Gooster) that I hadn't seen before and besides it was so bloody cold I wasn't in the mood of taking too many photo's. There were only four Sportsters on Sunday (I only saw two others when we arrived late in the day) and a total of four on Monday including me, GOO and Andy Dane for about 10 minutes!
I'll post up some shots on my Flickr site tonight or later in the week when I have time.
Had a good chat with Sorton on Monday along with a new guy who is thinking of buying a Sportster kit. I had a brief chat with Mike (Cabrio M50 builder) on Sunday but we were cold and rushed off to get a cup of tea. Sorry to Mike if we were a bit rude rushing off but Pauline needed warming up!
Maybe we can all meet again when it is a little warmer and drier?

Ok, I've got a few photo's that can be found here...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/peters-...7623992611774/
(Apoligies for the poor quality, either the new camera is crap or I have it set up wrong?)
Having seen the black Suffolk S100 Jag replica, I've decided the Gooster should be shinny black with a ton of vents in the bonnet! (Take a look Jason)
However, there was one car that caught my eye....
(Sorry for the indulgence, but yes it is my own car!)
I was still assembly parts of the car at 1pm Sunday and we finally left about 2pm after a quick change of clothes. No test drive, just striaght up the M40 for 1.5 hours! What a shake down drive!!
But after 7 years, I wasn't going to miss being at Stoneleigh!! (smug grin from ear to ear)
Happy building

Peter, the car looks amazing, you should be justifyably well chuffed! I am on the charge to finish mine for IVA, and hopefully in time for the summer and a significant birthday!

I think I should just build an SS100 personally...
I was going to paint the Vikki black at one point, but the combined wisdom of Stoneliegh that year (after much sharp intakes of breath) was that black was far too unforgiving a colour.
I haven't got to make my mind up yet though.

Hi Peter. We didn't meet at stoneleigh but I did have a good look at the car. Ab Fab! Well done. And the Gooster is looking great too. Must get mine on the road before the end of summer.

Hi Alfie, sorry we missed you at Stoneleigh.
Thanks for the compliment and I hope it spurred you on to get your car finished soon.

Hi Peter
The car is looking great, great choice of colour!
I guess now you'll be on to thinking about the 'new' engine - I've got a man in Caerphilly (nice feeling driving across the bridge this week, although it was a tad nippy!) looking at my immobiliser wiring so will let you know what he discovers...

Hi Peter
The car looks great in the sunlight but I remember it better in the rain! I enjoyed our chat and look forward to future gatherings.
Jason, sorry I missed you later in the day.

I've got too much to do than think about the M52 at present, but keep me posted on what your man does,
thanks
