For Sale And Wanted
I am wondering if a FOR SALE AND WANTED section or thread should be started that relates to the Sammio, Miglia and Ribble builds and donors.
I for one need a pair of original spitfire seats for my Navigator and a pair of bucket seats for my Pilot.
I have for sale a down draft Webber carb (no manifold), Triumph gearbox, Spitfire fuel tank, Herald dashboard complete with clocks, set of original Spitfire wheels, a couple of new Triumph clutch plates, ect.
Who knows what I could find in my shed,
Any body interested

Sounds like a great idea, it's what is lacking on this forum.

1600 Vitesse rolling chassis
Not sure if this is becoming the for sale thread?
I have just listed a rolling chassis on the Miglia thread, if anyone is looking for an easy start to a build...

There is a classifieds plug-in available that I could install if you all wanted a for sale / wanted section.
An example of a forum running this plug-in can be found here;
http://www.planet-9.com/classifieds.php
As far as I can tell whilst the plug-in runs from the site (Madabout) the upload details of the advert (text, photos) are hosted by Panjo.com, the makers of the plug-in.
Their business model appears to be to take a cut of the selling price should the transaction go through their payment processing stages - 10% I think, (they share this revenue with the forum host (ie Madabout). I think this can be turned off but I can't be sure until I've installed it and taken a look.
Would this be something you guys would be interested in?

Thanks for thinking of us John. For my part, this forum seems to have evolved its own system - if someone has an item they're thinking of selling or swapping they just post an entry in the relevant build thread, either their own or whoever's asked if someone has a specific item to spare. Negotiations then take place via PM's, (this is such a friendly forum that quite often the item is sent just for the cost of postage) and if there are no takers then the seller reverts to the traditional(!) methods of fleabay, bumtree etc., with a link posted to the item just in case.
That's just my two new pennies worth, I'm sure others will have their say in due course.

Don't think its necessary just for this sub forum but certainly may be useful to the site as a whole.

Alternatively I could just create a For sale sub forum which would cover all forum sections. Think that would be easiest.
Build it and they will come as they say
