Well nothing positive.

Not yet.

What I want is for GTM Cars to build a new car. The Libra is in need of a substantial freshen up, not the pathetic cheap cosmetic tinkering that has been going on for the last few years.

I don't see the aquisition by Potenza some marvellous cure-all. They may well own Westfield, but Westfield (no offence) have built their business on sales to people who (like it or not and maybe subliminally) have sold themselves on a Lotus Seven.

The Seven, in any of it's varieties, is an easy kit to manufacture. The Libra's composite monococque isn't. The sale of GTM cars in 2002 proved that. The GRP quality of the cars I have seen at shows in the last year is pathetic. People STILL compliment me on the paint job on my car.....it's gelcoat and fantastically ripple free, too.

If there was some sort of crossover between the two vehicles I'd be hopeful, but I can't see one.

If Potenza mean business they'll Richard Oakes to pen a new car and get the GRP firm that moulded my kit to do the panels. That'd be a start.

I agree with Ferg.........the Libra does need a restyling or a new model to replace it.

I hope they get Richard Oakes to do the design work, he certainly knows how to design a succesfull sportscar.

The 40TR showed was forgettable as a potential new product........
