Default Raw fibreglass edges

I am about to cut the bonnet vent on my 250swb and this will obviously leave the raw fibreglass edge.

How do I best cover it cosmetically but also to protect it?

My first thought was slap some uPol filler over it but will that be enough weather protection?

Also, the bonnet has two pins at the front and I have drilled holes for them to fit. I was planning on sticking a stainless steel washer either side of the hole for strength but again, what about the raw edge of glass. Will filler be enough especially as the pins will be rubbing against it. There doesn't seem to be enough room for a rubber grommet and even that might let water into the glassfibre.

All advice welcome

Just get some lay-up resin or flowcoat and brush it on the area (after catalysing it as per the instructions)

Use the rubber grommets/sleeves that will come with your headlight buckets for the steel pins. your idea of stainless washers is a good one.

Raw edges will benefit from resin, as mentioned, or fill and paint as the rest of your car will have been previously.

Quite important to do this around the filler cap area.

Early TVRs didn't and it's surprising how far fuel can soak along the glass fibres. As a few people found out in cases of fire.
