It's time to start thinking seriously about the interior of my Sportster.

I am looking at all sorts of seat options and finishes on various websites but I can't work out what's best for a soft top. So taking price out of the of the equation, what are the pros and cons of vinyl and leather finishes for seats and trimming. Has anyone got any experience of working with and living with both.

I have had leather seats in my last two kit cars. In my view it is more comfortable than vinyl as it breathes. I suspect that it is also harder wearing although I have never kept a car long enough to find out! And there is also the look and smell - nothing to beat it.

Having said that modern vinyls have come a long way since they were first used in the 60's. And vinyl is cheaper although some of the higher quaility stuff can be expensive.

Given the choice - leather every time for me - for the seats at least.
