A tribute to Tribute...
OK So maybe an OTR project might not have been the best idea ever...In 3 days of driving and even in its current state Ive been stopped at the petrol station, the shop, the pub and at the train station by petrolhead...'is it a Maserati a Marcos (yuk) a MUIRA?? (seriously) a this a that yhe other...... Its great but when its finished this ISNT going to be a good daily drive unless you have 20 mins spare on each trip. Also I wait til theyve finished and tell them actually its a Mazda MX5 :-).......

To be fair he was outside a pub in a cut off jean jacket with a beard and probably drunk.. so take him a Muira and a Marcos and blur the poor mans vision and he probably thought he was on the money.... lol

Pins and hinges now.....
Ditched the leather belts... now I have some alignment to do and all is good :-)
Suppose Id better wire up the headlamps tomorrow. Also the low profiles on the front are bugging the crap out of me so will have to get that sorted too

Sanding again
A lot more sanding today on the joins....
The roof starting to look good. However I noticed two of the rivets on the rear wing were definitely gonna show through the final paint job and having seen that at Stoneleigh I definitely didnt want that....
I ground them back a little after this piccy was taken...
Im now working with the easy sand and its really taking shape

Bhols
A few more bits ordered today for next day delivery. Hopefully crack a few more jobs (as well as filling) this weekend. Looks like from the forecast that the gazebo will have to go up over the car though
- Fit 2nd set of tailpipes
- Fit Hubcentric spacers
- Fit 2nd set of bonnet pins
- Remedial work on the roof which I will detail later over the weekend with pics
- Seal rear windscreen
Most of this list is dependant on couriers and the posty being good to their word....

Thats ridiculus, I had a LWB Shogun respereyed from red to black, due to materials my usual sprayer (who is painting my kit) wanted £1500, it was done for £1000, by another guy and came out looking like a new car, shop around backstreet painters with recomendations (Ask around the garage industry). Oh and the more sanding and filling you do the better.

progress
Even though Ive followed all instructions to the tee about bonding and the prep involved I started to notice a crack in the roofline...
Ive ground it back to give another good strengthening with chopstrand....
Also more filling and sanding and done one swage line...
looks much better without it....
I also fitted some 5mm spacers to the front wheels and such a small adjustment has made a great difference....
Lastly I now have four pins....
More tomorrow folks....
