Trevors car has finally had all its fillerwork / gapping etc done.
The photo doesn't show it well but its all done.
I took the car over to Bodycare in Wimborne to get the paint done.
pics below of car on trailer just round the corner and then looking like a pedal car in the Bodycare doorway !!
Car will be primed tomorrow and flatted out Friday....I will try and get over there for a primer pic...

Just uploaded a whole load of pictures of the Sammio in the bodyshop *just* before it went for priming here
I'm starting to get very excited about how it will look!

Still collecting it on Saturday Trevor?
It is going to look great - are you taking it to Exeter?

it's going to look superb matey! Watching the progress on yours certainly shows up the differences between a professional job to my Heath Robinson paint job.

There was a slight delay, so it will now be ready on Tuesday.
Sadly I don't think I'm going to make Exeter, but I won't be too far behind.

Popped into Bodycare this afternoon and the car has just had its 2 pack polyester primer sanded flat. Pictures and more info here
The finish is as smooth as glass, a credit to everyone involved.

Looks fab, proper shiny straight from the gun. I take it the 2k paint doesn't need flatting and polishing like acrylic?

That'll be why the pro's use it.
Small matter of all the isocyanate fumes for diy'ers, though, as you need expensive air fed breathing apparatus to safely spray it.
Earlier this year I had to read up on the Office for National Statistics UK causes of death by category for a work project (don't ask ) and in 2010 more than 70 people died in Britain through accidentally inhaling toxic paint fumes
Think I'll stick to good ol' cellulose.

The car is back, but sadly the screen on my laptop has died (posting this from my phone), so I won't be able to post any photos till the weekend.
It looks absolutely stunning though.
Trevor.
