Default hi folks

just got a dutton melos to restore so thought id sign up as im shure i will
get some good advice i was at my local breakers when it was towed in
needs a bit welding on the chassis but i can manage that ok .im looking for
a windscreen for it ?any advice on that would be good ? i was thinking of
useing perspex but dont know if that would be allowed .another thing is
there any good sites for getting mk1 escort parts as thats what most of the
running gear is cheers guys

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase.

The Melos has a fairly simple ladder chassis so shouldn't be difficult to fix/replace chassis sections if completely rotted.

I believe the windscreen is just flat glass so assuming you have the surround you should be able to use that as a template and get a local auto windscreen shop to cut you out a new one.

Stoneleigh kit car show is coming up in a couple of weeks, would probably be a good idea to get along as the Dutton OC normally have a useful presence there and no doubt plenty of owners to ask questions to.

thanks for the info got most of the welding done to day it would all have been done but ran out of mig wire still trying to find out more on windscreens
i dont know of any where in scotland that make them
