Question Quick fuel pump question?

Right I have put in my new walbro pump which is inline and was just wondering if I connect it to ign 2 via the same route as my rover pump so that it is controlled with relay and ecu and would therefore prime which is not needed??

Or do I just connect it to ign3/engine on power source??

Cheers
Craig

In my opinion you need it to work in conjunction with the other pump, and have both of them controlled by the ECU, with the fuel shut off switch. If you don't run them together, a) the walbro will try and run dry, and b) if you have a shunt, the walbro will keep trying to pump fuel, which could be quite unpleasant.

The above is my take on the situation anyhow, others may have different opinions.

Cheers John, that is the way I had ran the wiring but just got thinking when I was about to connect it up regarding it priming!

When you talk about fuel cut of switch is this the same as the inertia switch?

Pump fitted and working fine!

What I have noticed though is 3 things

1. walbro very noisy on prime

2. rover pump when engine running now sounds like it's brains are being sucked through it's nose, very loud

3. Thought my fuel pressure regulator was knacked as I could not get it above 3 bar'ish. but now it flies above 3 bar so confirmed that rover pump alone is shit for turbo or type r engines

I don't think so (brand new from reg vardy) but you never know!

It used to hover just over 3 bar and when I revved it the pressure used to drop to 3 bar or just under for a few seconds then rise again, now with the walbro when I rev the engine the needle doesn't move.

Needed to change pump anyway it was not going to last long
