Modified Cordite / Miglia / Navigator ?
I have just seen this posting on another section of this forum.Interresting to say the least.
whats everyones view on that ? the wheelbase is 83'' so im guessing that its a reworked sammio origin bodyshell. looking at the bonnet and front treatment my guess is miglia. I read somewhere on here mick has sold 15 , so is this one of those do u think ?

actually the miglia is 91'' so its got to be a cordite or navigator hasn't it?
interrestingly they have gone with a miglia style front section.

Hmm, the listing (now ended) does say they have the moulds.
It's different to both Miglia and Sammio/Ribble bodies, it's got faired in front lights rather than flat mounts for 7" lights and the rear 'valance' area looks to have been flattened like ChristineDMC has done rather than the sculpted, dipped down at the ends look of the Sammio. The hump also looks taller but the grille opening is pure Cordite/Miglia.
My guess is that someone's acquired a Cordite shell, modified it to suit their own taste and/or choice of donor (MX5?) and taken moulds from it.
Anyone cheeky enough to contact the seller and ask?

I messaged them asking if the moulds were available as they are only 20 minutes from the workshop but never got a reply.

Had a mail back this morning with contact details so gave him a call, he has a complete body with bonnet and the mould for the body but at the moment cant find the doors or the door moulds or the bonnet mould. He's a very pleasant retired gent and just wants the space so would take £1300 the lot, anyone interested
?

Names are a thing at the moment.
I have just been asked to build a motorized "skip"
Here the photos so far
We'r going to call it a "FOUR-YARDER" (you have to say it out-loud to get it)
Note the Sammio build technique
PS the driver might be an ugly bas***d but at least he's smiling

Are you buying just the unfinished car or the moulds too?
Will you be putting your own version into production if you do get the moulds?
Can't wait for the next instalment...

sounds interesting . I second toweds comments . tell us more . is it spitfire or herald baised ? if you are going into produchtion I would be interested to hear your prices and stuff as I an still shopping around for ideas. funniley enough gary the sammio man told me a few years back that he reckoned within a few years there would be several people offering body options for these type of cars. he really felt the time was right for the rebirth of the 50's special.

I have both the body + the moulds (no doors yet).
Both need some TLC but it's a good base to start with.
Spitfire donor will be my first attempt.
Right now l think I will try and use the whole floor pan, including the boot floor, and most of the bulkhead so-as-to cut down on the build time.
I will start a new thread when I begin my adventure.
A name is still needed "Replica Roadster" or "Razor" or "Raven" my company initials are RR which I would use so any ideas?
I think Gary J is right.
The thing about these 50's specials is they tick so many boxes.
There a classic car, a track car, a dream car, a cool car etc.
All individually built to the builder needs and wants and you don't need a mortgage or a degree in engineering to do it.
You just need to link to this forum.

RR you say? Howz about the Ribble Ripoff ! only joking bud. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with it as it is going to be of the biuld style the sammio formatted by the sounds of it and that is the level of biuld I am looking at. I think you are only about 60-70 miles from me as well.so that's a big plus point for me as well.

Up date;
I went to collect the moulds and body (found the doors) on Sunday but they wouldn't fit safely in my pick-up so I going back later this week to try again.
Not all wasted as I met VIATRON and his new tool box, it's very big
He also told me of the fiberglass laminator next door
When I go back I will call-in and get a price to remake the moulds, as they are a bit shabby, and also get a price to make the body's so if you want one let me know.
Thinking of calling it a "REBUSS" any thoughts ??
