General chatter This is the place to talk about anything kit car related that doesn't come under any of the other categories |

What's your favourite kit and why?
I know everyone will say that the car they are building (or own) is their favourite.
But there must be others. You might be lusting after something exotic (or expensive) or you might have done a kit previously that somehow was very special to you.

Favourite kit is sadly one that isn't produced any more (although I think certain bits are available from Racetec) and that's the Ferrari Daytona Spyder.
Not that I could afford one anyway but the original is just pure class and the kits were pretty good too - I never saw a bad one put it that way.
I need more money

Don't we all!
There're always kits I like and go onto my list of "sometime in the future...".
I want to build a car to race after the Libra so will probably be looking at a Hyabusa or ZX12 powered Fury.
Obviously something like the Ulitima - unique, good performance and handling etc. would be good. Good as they are, though, more and more are turning up so it's lost some of it's exclusivity. Have to see how Andycanam gets on with his V12 bi turbo Nemesis
There are loads of other that I see and think "That'd be fun to build and have a play with" but ultimately I think I'd like to build something from scratch to my own design. Monocoque, lots of composites, mega powerful, in board suspension, the works.

I believe there are lots of cars out there that we all lust after.
I'm very tempted to say my favourite is the 'Attack', but as no one has driven one yet, so I can't really.
I also like the Murcielago replica from Rapid Promotions (I like the real thing too). Want to see that in the flesh too.
I appreciate where LexSport is coming from with building your own from scratch and I have been following the progress of the MeerKat.
Still can't decide on one particular car though.

I would've liked a Kamala, but the Litton Corse is so good that I wouldn't change it for anything (apart from the bodywork of course).
If I had the money I would modify a Ford Puma with a V6 in the back (eg that from the Honda NSX), widen the front track 4 inches, the rear 8 inches, lowered on double wishbones, bell-cranked shox, obviously very flared wheel arches, and all in a dark metallic grey. The other alternative would be to cut the panels off a Puma and stick them onto the Stratos - now there's an idea. .

Sounds nice. Is that the sort of idea you have for the bodywork?

Absolutely no doubt in my mind.....if I had been older when this car was marketed I would have had one.
The car below was snapped at Hindhead in the 80s and has another in the background (+ Midas).
Richard Porter of the Mini marcos site reckons most of these have gone to Japan now.
UNIPOWER GT
(Mind you then I wouldn't have bought the GTM Coupe and maybe not the Libra either.....)

Ferg might be referring to the Futura which is Kamala's new model with faired in front wheels, etc.
I've got pictures of it from the Autosport show if you're interested. For that matter, drop me a mail if you want a load of pictures of most of the kit cars at the Autosport show.

Lex, definately would be interested in pics of the Autosport show. I'm on broadband so no worries with size. Address is john@madabout-kitcars.com
