Thanks for the reply Mr T.
I am not sure when, but one day I will finally get my body shell fixed into position.
Cheers, Paul.

200 mile round trip to Donington today and the Spyder didn't miss a beat.
Cooling is now fully sorted with the copper cored stock car radiator, extended motorway running at, ahem, 70mph(+) followed by stop start town traffic and it never rose above the second dot on the gauge.
One slight issue that's been slowly building up was the horn occasionally sounding itself. Today it decided to sound off on every roundabout - thank Christ I wasn't driving round Milton Keynes - so I had to pull the 'pencil', which was completely worn out, out of the steering wheel boss when I got there.
Good show, loved tribute's 250SWB and will be building one when funds allow...

And the twinkle in my eye -

Nice one Mr T!
Your car makes even a Cobra look fat and over weight!!
I set out for Donington myself today, intent on meeting you, but had to turn back and go home when a "clonking" developed on my car.
Turns out the CV gaiter had split, spilling all the grease out, which dried the joint causing the noise.
Have ordered grease and new gaiters, but not in time for Donington unfortunately.
So you've got away with it this time Mr T!

Mr T - I know your car is low, but the blue car to the right of the Cobra is seriously slammed (if not squashed).
I agree that the 250 SWB looks great and that is before the final finishing touches are applied.
Cheers, Paul.

Lotus XI replica I believe.
Doesn't the Cobra windscreen look like overkill compared to the flyscreens on the cars either side...

I think the fly screens definitely add to the overall race car look.

Gave my Spyder a wash, polish and topped up the fluids ready for the trip down to Goodwood tomorrow. Also got my 50's period overalls pressed for the show -
Such a nice day today that I took my better half up to Hunstanton for chips'n'curry sauce in the sunshine -
I had wondered whether it was necessary to fit a heater but today the air was cold despite the sunshine and the heater did a surprisingly good job of keeping the cockpit snug and warm.
Thoroughly looking forward to Goodwood, will post some pics over the weekend.

Chips "AND" curry sauce! you're setting the bar a bit high here! I'll have to make sure that SWMBO doesn't find out!
Interesting timing to hear about your heater as i'd always planned on fitting one to my next build after the Sammio as it was HOT in summer and FREEZING in winter. Your experiences have reminded me that I'm going to have to fit one before i go too far!

The heater is also useful for supplementary cooling if the engine temperature rises when you get stuck in a traffic jam on the way to the Cote D'Azur. Tsk, happens to the best of us.

Pleasant run down to Brighton, car ran for three hours non-stop at motorway speeds without missing a beat. Temperature also stayed resolutely in the cool zone which is cause for celebration. Copper cored radiators all the way for me now!
I was promised a room with a view and here it is -
Also got free parking included in the deal -
Really looking forward to the trip across to Goodwood in the morning, couple of beers and an early night tonight methinks.

Some Goodwood pics for those not fortunate enough to be attending this year -
Nice Mini for sale -
Used to be driven by some chap called 'Paddy' or something though -
Nice 356 coupe also for sale, going cheap I hear -
I got to park in good company again -
Particularly liked this 60's Morris ambulance that's been turned into a camper van -
Sadly, not everyone made it to the show unscathed, this lovely 911 got side swiped by a truck en-route -
Star of the car park for me so far though is this fabulous Alfa 8C -
Then I always did rather like the look of the early Marlin 'homages'.
More tomorrow.

Got quite excited by this retro Airstream caravan. Thought it might be nice for the odd budget weekend away classic glamping.
Then took a look at the price...
Plus VAT makes it £86,496. Not sure, but import duty might just tip it into six figures...
Also drooled over this Testarossa -
I think it's a replica as it has disc brakes, inboard on the back end (Jag?) and I'm fairly confident an original would've had finned drums outboard all round. Loved the detailing on the interior, even down to being able to see daylight through the gaps around the doors.
My Spyder ran perfectly on the 155 mile trip home this afternoon, taking just under three hours non-stop. I've racked up a total of 400 miles in it over the last four days, mostly at motorway speeds but including almost an hour stuck in traffic on Friday evening, and it didn't miss a beat.
I had a thoroughly enjoyable time at Goodwood and I'd recommend anyone who loves classic cars to build your own 'special' and make the pilgrimage for yourself. You won't regret it.

Nice car with attention to detail and if it's a replica then the guy who done it will be proud, did you notice if the shell was ally or fiberglass Mr T.

I didn't go poking it to see what it was made of, but it had an expensive air about it so I'm guessing it's ally. If it is a replica I'd say you're talking at least F-Type Jag money to commission one the same.
