And wire it so that the brighter filament (usually 21w) is the brake light. The dimmer filament (usually 5 or 6w) is the side light.
Once you've got them working... you can get LED bulbs as direct replacements if you want brighter lights.
If you fit LED bulbs in your indicators, you will have to fit ballast resistors in parallel with them to slow down the flash rate. It's because they use less power that it affects the flasher relay and speeds up the flash rate, the resistors compensate for that. Been there, done it.
