Thank you for the pics, that is sure a good mod to make. Does the window fit with a rubber like the MGB window or is it bonded ? I note you mention frame channels so I take it they bond to the inside for the window to sit in to.

Molleur - Looking good.
Especially given the fact that the side of your car looked like this at one point!
I also like the way your Florida plate is a such a neat fit at the back.
Good luck, Paul.

Thanks!
Yes, there are inner frame channels that are bonded to the body.
The window is "Captured" by studs on the stainless outer trim which go between the window and the body, bolted to the frame channels. No holes to drill. Very well thought out.
That is why the cutout is slightly larger than the window.

Thanks for the extra info on the window. This build is looking great now and recovering well from your initial setbacks.

Still dealing with previous setbacks but making slow progress.
Looks like I'll have to cut the door skins again to get the side window frames installed. Just more stuff to do!

Looking good, take your time and get it right from the outset.

250 SWB window frames
after taking the side window frames apart for powder coating (chrome), upon reassembly there is one frame screw that is a pan-head and longer than the smaller inner to outer frame screws.
I had it marked "center" but don't remember if it was top or bottom.
Does anyone know? Installing the drivers side window today.
Thanks
Jack

Small update.
Major task!
Decided to completely remove the body and reinstall correctly. Too many work around's to fix from previous "friends" work.

Oh a 'Major Task!' - sometimes you have to just pull things apart and start again rather than try the easy route. It is often a difficult decision to make but normally results being quicker and the end result better. You would always regret not doing it as well. Good luck.

Haven't seen or talked to them since I "rescued" my kit.
Currently patching the door skin cut outs I had to make for
mounting the window frames. After that I;ll struggle with removing the body.

body ready to come off today. Had to use a heat gun to carefully
get the adhesive to where I could peel away the fiberglass.
Most difficult were the door jambs that were also bonded.

Hate the idea of bonding the body on, the convertible all bolts on.
Would it be possible to bond the front of the coupe roof to the header rail of the discarded soft top?
That way the body could be unbolted and the header rail catches simply released?

Good idea, however, the roll cage brackets would interfere.
It is removed now, and working on a fiberglass part for a headliner
today, As I'm using the Grassbank rear screen, a new parcel shelf will be created and interior upholstery will follow.
