Default Pedal Box Mods - Are they needed??

Well....Christmas is now a distant memory but on the bright side the build is progressing well still planning on meeting my Easter (ish) deadline

Donor car is now long gone. I've done the engine cambelt, plugs and headgasket....and fettled up most of the bits needed.

Bulkheads fitted, steering rack in, fuel tank and radiator going nicely...

BUT...do I fit standard Rover pedal box or must it be modded first?

The build instructions mentions modifying and WKC shortened there set by about 40mm.

Is this necessary?

What happens if I don't shorten them?

Help please?

Rich

I you have little feet you could be ok.

I think with the pedals as standard you'll find your instep on the pedal instead of the ball of your foot.

Rich,

The pedal box is "cut" as per the build photo's to separate the accelerator pedal from the rest.

I've got the standard pedals fitted which work...but shortened versions would be better...I reckon 25mm shorter would work well...so if you have the time then do it!

BUT make sure the steering column knuckle joint does not clash with the side of the brake pedal. I modified my column support position as this was a SVA failure item for me...I welded on a new 5mm thick plate to alter the alignment of the column...
HTH,

John
