Default Llandow track day

Is anyone from here planning to attend Marlin's track day on the 30th June? I know many people haven't completed their builds, but I'm intending to go, and I will hopefully be punting my friend's Golf around the track. At £100 for a day of sessions it’s quite reasonable value, and as Marlin will let current builders take their existing cars around the track, it's a good opportunity to hone skills in familiar (quite possibly "safe" handling FWD) cars. The only potential problem at the moment, seems to be a lack of numbers jeopardising the day.

It’ll be a bummer if the plan gets scrapped, as I’m quite looking forward to giving a few 5EXis a run for their money around the track. I reckon a 230bhp Mk2 golf with an ATB diff ought to be able to give most of the attendees a good challenge.

I'm trying to get my car prepared...but there are still some jobs to finsh off properly...

Llandow is a very short and twisty track. if u have not been around it before be warned there are some areas with very little run off...

make sure you have you're big brakes and sticky rubber fitted to that golf!

hopefully i see you guys there.

john.

Road tyres - at least it'll let go at a lower speed.

Brakes - only 285 (?) mm, but they've never lacked power on previous track days, even with repeated stops from 120+ down to 40.

Hopefully the lack of run-off won't make itself known.

I may be there, without our car, but if I am there I will be with my dad and his Sportster, should be a fun day if it goes ahead.
