The later acquired "trademark" requirement to house a spare wheel between the front wheel arch and the door may have something to do with that.

I've noticed on other cars that an extended scuttle in front of the windscreen looks odd.

What about a OSI 20m ts(ford).they have a mix of designs in one car. Can you name them. I saw a bit of Alfa and Ferrari

Mick O'Malley 20th August 2016 08:34

Food For Thought?

How about a Mercedes Maybach Vision 6 using a Jag or Mercedes SL as a base.

On an XJS ?

Like the side window. And the roof flowing into the boot . Very sleek.

Never seen that before but I really like it. AM are pretty hot on the use of their mouth shape so maybe a non starter for Chris but can see the possibility of someone making a really nice car out of that.

Leatherseat 3rd September 2016 20:23

That is very sexy. Tempting...

Tell them it is a Ford mouth, they look almost the same now:rofl:

zagmad 4th September 2016 06:30

True. I had a ford fiesta grill not sure if Chris still has it. Could probably slot in quite nicely. And if jaguar lights were used from a xk8 it would be too far from the swooping mustache shape they have. Also some Toyota celica tailights look nice possibly a mk5 the one where they did the convertible.

Jaguartvr 4th September 2016 06:44

It would be ideal for Chris or Dan, a few modifications and it would be a great kit for Scimitar owners and of course no IVA, and then there would be the convertible version!

Something for the forum to discuss, a tirbute to the mid late 60s 2ltr race cars.
I call it a restoration recreation tribute to all things from that era a Mid-engine Berlinetta Tourer

Tell us more. I like it.

Ollie 5th September 2016 07:18

Yep....very pretty and balanced....tell us more #2....

au-yt 5th September 2016 08:02

The car was a one off, chassis is a full space frame, engine is an early Alfa Montreal V8, gearbox is Renault UN1 with most of the body missing. But it had registration history. So ineffect I started again.
It was never intended to be a replica of any thing I would be interested in what your thoughts are as to what it looks like.
I am considering reducing the height of the spoiler.

Looks like the front of this

These cars were all inspiration with the 33 Stradale a big influence but instead of doing a Replica I wanted a bespoke design.

zagmad 5th September 2016 09:03

Ahh. I see. Ferrari vents. Alfa slanted side window ,ford rear?

mazdarazmataz 5th September 2016 09:09

Love that au yt, what did you get the front windscreen off?

M6 Mclaren made for a couple of cars namely the Raffo Belva.

WorldClassAccident 5th September 2016 09:50

but instead of doing a Replica I wanted a bespoke design.

Same as the Z300S. Inspired by rather than copied from. Looks lovely. If only there was a suitable donor available now

its effectively the same wheel base as a Lotus Europa but thats it and to be honest I dont want to make any more its 11 years to get to here

Barber 5th September 2016 12:01

Wow, full marks for persistence. A real labour of love, probably, but it could be like a marriage you can't shake off.

redratbike 5th September 2016 21:15

Very nice ..with the power to back up the looks

Thanks Guys
I am enjoying the build and coming up with solutions but getting the styling correct as per was very important
I have stuck to the late 60s theme
The doors are 906 style with Lotus thinking that is a single beam with hinge at one end lock at the other.
The Steering rack is very early 912 Porsche. this was extended to get the geometry correct - 0 bump steer to toe out on the last part of travel.
The rear hubs are also specially remade the originals badly corroded. only I had a pattern made to use ALFA GTV rear bearings and drive shaft's.
The front uprights are Fiat 124 and bigger Wilwood 4 spot calipers
Some of these pictures are quite old

au-yt - Welcome to the forum and nice car.

http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/foru...3&d=1473051586

Have you seen Axel's Dino 206 build?

http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/foru...ead.php?t=4789

Which as NeilF355 said earlier has similar curves to yours.

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c2...psuzivpcu0.jpg

It looks like you have plenty of interest in your project already, so why not start a build thread and tell us all about it?

There is a section on the forum for Italian replicas:
http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/foru...splay.php?f=20

Good luck, Paul. :)

zagmad 6th September 2016 07:09

Would love to see that glass on a a352. Plus roof

Its not a tribute to any car but a tribute to an era and you can see from the front shot that there is some similarity and that what's I want to avoid. The lowers sections of the front valance are bigger and rounder, ther will be a discrete splitter to aerodynamically balance the rear.
If I do start a thread, given I am new to this forum where would you suggest I start?

Graeme

WorldClassAccident 6th September 2016 09:55

I would suggest the Italian Cars forum is closest to what you have got. I know it is not a copy of a specific car but is definitely in the style of the Dino and Alfa.

Click on this link :L http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/foru...splay.php?f=20

and start a thread there. I would be keen to see it

Hi Paul

thanks for reminding me I still have this car in my garage...

God I have to start working on this again, cannot believe it is already more than a year ago I have touched it... :-(

Anyway, I have built a Lotus bike tribute inbetween! Wonder if you have seen it already, it is published in a german custombike magazin this month!

Seems we have a similar ideas, I actually like the combo hybrid of the GT40 and the 206 Screen but what you have achieved is excellent, has taken you that long either!
Cheers

You can find a full build thread under

but you need to register, it is based on a '86 Kawasaki 600 Eliminator.

That bike is just so cool, love it, and what a transformation from what it was originally. Totally inspiring cars and bikes from both Axel and au-yt, Much respect :)

fatbloke 10th September 2016 15:37

That bike is super cool as is the car, brilliant stuff.
