2009 Sportscar Challenge 14–17 September

Guild of Motor Endurance events have always been about proving and testing the designs of hand built sportscars. Now the cars have become so reliable and capable, and their crews ever more competitive, something had to change.

2008 was a watershed, and the Catalunya-Aquitaine 2009 will have a new format. Less like a rally, but still just as demanding. The emphasis will be on the ability to reach check points along the route rather than arrival times. And in response to the present economic climate 2009 will be a four day event.

The 2009 sportscar challenge will start in Clermont Ferrand, France. The route through the Auvergne and French Grand will continue south towards the Costa Brava in Spain. From the Mediterranean crews head west via Catalunya. The route will then follow the length of the Pyrenees to the Atlantic, and the Finish in Biarritz in Aquitaine.

After the Catalunya-Aquitaine 2009, some may wish to drive north through Aquitaine to Angouleme, and watch the Circuit des Remparts classic street racing weekend. 19-20 September.
