Wow, loving the roar of the straight six on the final straight.

Why spend twenty grand on a Caterham when you could build four Spyders and still have change for a holiday?

Yep, leather flying helmet and goggles just looking for a silk scarf with a wire coat hanger stuck in it so I look like I'm doing 60 waiting at the lights...PAT

Looking at the pictures , I think this is the only other Spyder I have seen other than Ol' 66 that has painted headlight rims ....I really like the painted rim look , looks early.

looks lovely. Great example, and one to aspire to!

Looking at the bonnet, I am thinking that bonnet bulges/scoops are mandatory for the 6 cyclinder versions? I seem to remember Davecymru adding a bulge to his.

I am coming up the to the bonnet fit stage, and thinking I may be adding a bulge or scoop or both!

Hopefully not mandatory - Phil's original bonnet 'scoop' was added to clear a radiator cap mounted directly on top of the thermostat housing. I believe he's now changed that setup due to the cap still fouling the inside of the scoop.

Having said that, I've not seen a scoop or blister bulge that didn't suit the Spyder bonnet, it's a very versatile design in that respect. I'm going to see how mine looks sans scoops first although I'd like to add some rivet detail here and there to add to the period racing look.

I think that it comes down to how you do things and what you've got to work with.

In reflection i think that my mods were largely driven by how i'd routed the plumbing, my previous false starts positioning the bonnet and possible some subtle differences with mine being a GT6 engine. Although i've been told that they are just about identical to the Vitesse 2L, I'm not totally convinced that anything on Triumphs of that era is that simple

That said, i do quite like my bulge (phanaar) although it is a bugger to polish

Does it take two hands to polish, Dave!
