If there are still places available I can make this. I was planning to take my 8 year old camping on saturday so may aswell make the long drive and bore the boy with car talk. I wont be in the Spyder though, its a long way if the weather is poor.

I know this is likely to change on an hourly basis but here's the current weather forecast for Sat/Sun from the BBC:
Forecast Summary
Outlook for Friday to Sunday
A mix of sunny intervals and blustery showers for Friday and Saturday. Mostly dry, bright and less breezy by Sunday.
So ATM it's all looking that I'll be able to drive down on the Sat afternoon and back on the Sun morning in the dry!
I know that there are a few of us going down, but how many Sammios are actually going to be there?

Gary - I'm sorry but I will not be able to make the gathering after all.
My wife's brother has just announced he & his family are coming over from Ireland next weekend.
So I will be spending this weekend helping to clean & tidy our house & garden.
Given my wife has been putting up with car parts all over the place recently it is only fair.
I hope it all goes well & I look forward to seeing the photos.
Cheers, Paul.
PS
If this leaves you out of pocket in terms of expected numbers I'll send you some cash.

Forecast Summary
Outlook for Saturday to Monday
Breezy with sunny intervals and showers on Saturday and Sunday. Lighter winds and mostly dry and bright with sunny spells by Monday.

Hi Gary,
Few quick question before i trog down tomorrow (I'm the planing sort!)
Are we booked in as a "group"?
What name are we booked in under?
What's the final price we're looknig at paying?
Do they sell decent Cider in the bar?
The address i've got is:
Sandford Holiday Park,
Holton Heath
Poole, Dorset
BH16 6JZ
I may be on my own in the Spyder, or i may have SWMBO also going to follow me down in the sensible-family car. Either way we'll be in 1 tent so i'll only need one pitch.
Dave

I'm afraid that despite my good intentions, I'll not be able to make the trek down to Dorset this weekend. I hope all who so get there have a great time and take LOTS of photos of the event. Cheers All

Hi,
The hecticness of recent events has meant I haven't booked us in ....we can all book in individually for an overnight pitch ...The area we are in is right at the back on the lower ground next to the modern shower block.
I didn't get very clear numbers for booking , the group booking rate is 16.95 , normal is 25 ....book in , pay 25 and I will give you a tenner back ! Thats a pitch price , per tent and includes passes to the evening entertainment , pools etc..its not too bad at all !!!
There is no shortage of room so don't panic ...the place is huge.
We will go over in the morning , about 10 ish , book our pitch and leave instructions for the people following on , so we all get the same area pitches....
I will be floating between the campsite and the workshop for most of the morning , Mike is spraying a mates van and also doing some work on his V8 Long nose as well ....so we are about ...my number is 07970 636986 .....
I realise this is a weather crucial event and as a result of recent weather , I am not expecting too many of us ....I will have Sam there tomorrow and my daughter is going to be around as well , so it really doesn't matter if you can't make it ...I am going to make the most of a rare weekend off anyway !!

After finishing work at 3am I've just woken up to the sound of torrential rain and I'm reminded why we Brits have such an obsession with open cars. Our weather's so dismal that when the sun does shine we want to make the most of it.
Despite the weather I'm really sorry I can't make it to the gathering this weekend. Unfortunately, while those of you that do make it are enjoying a beer and a chat, I'll be dealing with the less than charming folk whose judgement is occasionally impaired by the carefree consumption of special brew. For breakfast. And I'm not joking.
So, if you're able to attend, have a beer for me and post lots of photos!

Just got back and apart from driving through two short showers on the way back (Flying goggles got their 1st outing and worked a treat!) it's been a great hot and sunny weekend!
Only a small turn out, but for this 1st one that's the way it was always going to be and at least that kept the rounds cheap and now that we've done 1 we've got something to build on for next year!
Great to meet everyone, top marks go to Pat for bringing the comedy tent! I apologies to Gaz for getting your lad talking about Minecraft and thanks to Tony for the pics as i completely forgot to take any yesterday, but i did get a quick one this morning of the Mk1 rain cover in place. Not that i needed it!
Finally many thanks to Gary for choosing a great site, even if the variety act were........ entertaining.

Nice pics. Hope all went well.
(I got as far as Winchester before the exhaust failed on the Kawasaki and it started sounding like a KTM Duke, so in the interest of maintaining public order crawled home while it 'monsooned' on me. Now home and nursing a bloody big glass of Mr Grant's finest.
Gary, will pm you when dried out!

MORE OF A BRIEF ENCOUNTER THAN A GATHERING , BUT IT WAS COOL...
Big , big thanks to the guys who attended ...especially Gaz who made an epic journey to see 3 sammios and talk to half a dozen of us !!
Always good to chat to like minded people over a few beers ..my kids enjoyed it too....Thats Sam lurking in the background of the pics and my daughter , Abbie was camping with her boyfriend with us as well....
We will do it again ...the site is excellent , something for everyone , lots of space , the pitches are about 30' wide !!
Hopefully weather and builds permitting , we can get a few more numbers together next year.....
Nike ....big thanks for trying as well...sorry to hear about your problems...
