What and where did you get the boss from? I've got a wooden Nadi style copy hanging from the roof in the garage just asking to be used.

A mate fitted it for me and removed all the air bag stuff. He said it wasn't the best quality but it's done the job fine.
I think I printed stuff off from Bimmerforum or similar to make sure we found the other airbag associated parts inside the centre console.
Cheers, Bob.

There is a thread I did here about removing the steering wheel if it helps : http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/foru...ead.php?t=4917
I then had a mate machine up two round pieces of aluminium. One bolted to the steering boss the wheel was fitted to that and the other went on top to clamp it into place. That was only necessary because the centre of the wheel didn't fit the BMW steering boss.

As I've known for a while, although it's a superb car, it's not getting used as I really need a classic/hot rod van which I don't need to polish and can through my auto jumble stock in the back of.
I'm going to be away for a few days and will then be using it for a friend's funeral as he was a great classic car fan.
After that it will be up for sale properly. For now if anyone is interested, they can read the build thread as everything that's happened to it is in there. I'll be asking around £20,000. Not cheap, but I doubt you could have one built for anywhere near that price.
Any questions, feel free to send me a pm and I'll answer as soon as possible.
Cheers, Bob.

Good luck with the sale Bob, hope you get a quick sale and achieve close to your asking price. It's a great looking car.

Probably Stoneleigh is a good place to pursue a sale! BTW are you going to the St George's Day Classic Car Run 23 April from Sheringham to Holkham Hall?

Good luck Bob!
Don't under sell it though its a great example and you have put in significant hours, the DNA replica california went for £48k (ebay), the insurance valuation on mine is at £30k. So, at £20k it will be a bargin whoever you sell it to.
Cheers.

Don't give it away unless you simply want rid of it ( which I doubt ).
£20k should be the very bottom figure, you should be pitching it around 25 - 30k. You said yourself you couldn't have one built for £20k to that standard.
In my opinion they should be priced at the same level as a good Cobra replica, its a similar audience.
Maybe in the spring time and warmer weather you won't want to let it go anyway, why not enjoy it this year after so long building it ?

Thanks for the messages guys.
I think you're right that I should aim for a price that reflects the looks, effort and expense incurred in building it.
It will probably be after/during Stoneleigh by the time I get around to advertising it so will probably take it there on the Monday.
It will certainly be sold as I do need to get something that works for my auto jumble business, is comfortable, powerful, reasonable economical, a good load carrier, a good tow vehicle, preferably automatic, definitely right hand drive, fully legal with DVLA etc and fits with my hot rod enthusiasm. I can't find anything yet but I have only been looking for a year or two.
Cheers, Bob.

Maybe having it on Tributes stand, gives you a great market place and would show a well finished car with a good resale value, should help Chris as well.

Officially for sale now
Well, the car has performed it's official as part for the small procession for my friend's funeral so is now for sale. He was a bike fan all his life so he went in a Triumph with sidecar hearse and his lady didn't want anything sombre so went in the chauffeur driven Zephyr. My wife and I followed in the Italia with open exhaust. A fitting send off I think.
I've put the car on Car and Classic but probably due to my thoughts being elsewhere this morning, it's ended up in the BMW section. I can't see how to alter this but have emailed the site for help.
I've not put a lot of detail in the advert as I'm working on the theory that if they don't follow the link to here for all the info, they weren't seriously interested anyway
Bob.

Thanks smash. I'll let folks on here know progress as it's one of the first to be put up for sale.
Cheers, Bob.

Hi Bob,
You might want to play around with the wording in the title of your ad to get more views. I typed in Ferrari Replica and the search didn't find yours but the Tribute and Nubodi cars came up.
You can bet some of your potential buyers wont type in the words "Kit Car".
Might be worth copying the Tribute titles ?

I've altered it a bit which has helped but as it's not a Ferrari, I didn't list it as a Ferrari, perhaps that would have been the best plan. I may have to contact them again.
Thanks, Bob.

Come on Bob, its a Ferrari inspired replica and a classy one at that.
When its time to sell you need to advertise it to the right market, don't be shy!
Like I said , the Tribute kits come up when you enter Ferrari replica and yours is one of those .
I think you are pitching the car at the right price with a little room for negotiation.

The car is now on Ebay as Car and Classic produced some interest but no actual offers. We'll see what happens.
Normally I can't wait to sell them as I already have something else waiting in the wings. The Tribute just sits in the garage so really should be sold but I can't quite build up enough enthusiasm for a future project.
There's a little car meeting tomorrow evening so I might just tax it and get using it.
Cheers, Bob.
