Default Sammio, became the biggest Area on the forum

Dear Sammio enthausiasts,

It's not really important, but on the other hand a nice milestone. I have noticed that the Sammio area has become the biggest area on the Mad About Kitcars forum by catching up on the Marlin area. 11.496 posts allready. In some way it must represents the succes of the Sammio concept and the involvement of builders and enthausiasts.

Regards,

Michiel (Netherlands)

A real milestone, and we've accumulated a massive amount of knowledge and experience, hint-n-tips and a (mainly) really good spirit amongst the Sammio/Ribble and all other manufacturer builders on these forums!

So it does strike me a a bit odd to hear via Facebook that Andy has just launched his own Ribble forum's....

http://ribble-kits.proboards.com/index.cgi

While as an ex-Sammio owner i obviously wish them all the best of luck, I'm not at all convinced that they're needed?

Hi Dave,
The Ribble forum isn't meant as a substitute for or competition to this one. Far from it. We just needed an area that we could post specific details such as the Frames drawings and our own 'in house' builds that would seem out of place on this forum without looking too commercial. We'll be on this as much as we ever were.

Eh, what was that? Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. Too busy typing another installment in my never ending story...

When I picked up my Spyder body from Gary J in July 2011 he mentioned the madabout forum and I thought 'That's really not my thing.' Apparently it is my thing, and I'm glad to now be a part of the biggest area of the site.

I'm very grateful for all the encouragement and advice I've received from people on this forum and I'm looking forward to starting a new thread about the experience of actually driving the thing once it's finished.

Well done everybody and good luck with your own builds and dreams of cars yet to be.

Yeah, we're number one!

With all the kits sold, i wish some others would add a photo/reply every now and again... I think every part of the build etc.. is of interest.

I've got to admit that i too was skeptical about 'forums' when i started my Sammio, but the help and advise and encouragement i had on here helped me keep going with mine!

I've also noticed more recently that we're starting to get a lot of crossover of people between build areas (Marilin / ribble / Tribute / Shamborghini) and i think that is a really good thing!

Good luck with the Ribble forum.
However in my opinion I think your website could have done the 'Commercial job' admirably rather than create an alternative to what is working really well.
