Tim I assume you mean the driving flange, It has to be driven out from the hub assembly, it will inevitably leave the inner race of the bearing on the flange. This will require grinding a groove along it's length in order to weaken it, then split it with a heavy sharp chisel.
They are quite expensive to buy new so i would definitely say it's worth the effort. This is the required procedure when replacing the wheel bearing, it would be a very expensive job to have to replace the flange every time. hth. Brian.
