Or improvement of the rear brake efficiency?
It seems sensible to me, to make the bulk adjustment by getting the natural front / rear balance near to target, then fine tune with adjusters.
Any of the standard setups (280 f / 260 r, or 260 f / 240 r) being as they designed for a FWD car, I can't see are a good base. My slightly dubious car-park-poll of production mid-engined cars has found most have near identically sized disc, but with a larger pad area on the front, and larger calipers on the front.
As for SVA approval, both Steve and Rich's views seem fairly logical, but from what I recall in an earlier thread, nobody knew the answer (assuming it is concrete, and not open to regional interpretation).
