Engine immobiliser

I seem to remember someone talking about starting problems with the Rover engine. The car would run for a sec or 2 then cut out. I believe it was traced to the immobiliser. Something about it cutting the fuel supply???

Can anyone shed any light?

I remember vagley that Which kit car had this problem. They got the 5AS loom from Marlin. Not sure what this loom does. Steve (SCMC001) might be able to shed some light as he went through this.
