Default Sill Plates

Chaps,

I don't know if anyone else would be interested, but I'm about to order some stainless steel sill plates for Vikki, to finish off the door area (and to cover up the gash VIN number stamping I had to do for IVA)

I found this outfit on ebay:

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/finishingtouch-door-sills

And they will do bespoke etching on the sills.

I've asked for some 800 x 45mm sills, that are pinstriped like the Jag & Daimler ones in the shop - but with the Marlin logo in the middle.

The costs are:

Sills - £24.50
Artwork setup - £17.50
Postage - £4.95
Total - £46.95

They'll be sending me a copy of the artwork prior to etching so I can approve, and I'll post it here so you can see what they'll look like. Obviously if several of us want them, the cost comes down per person as the artwork has already been done.

Let me know

Jason.

I think they'll be fairly thin - so probably not.

Default Sills

Ok still in for sills, am going to pit a small plastic wedge right at the hinge part of the sill to improve this

They've arrived, and jolly nice they are too.

They're very shiny so it's difficult to get a decent picture of them - but the stainless plate is engraved with the Marlin logo in the middle, with two pinstripes to either side.

I've made them long enough to allow a nylon wedge (like Robin's) to be fitted near the door hinges to ensure they clear the sill plate and don't clobber the leading edge on the chassis if the hinges drop slightly.

If you want some, order direct from Finishing Touch, and just say you want a set of marlin sportster plates like mine. You shouldn't have to pay for art setup, as it's been done already.

I'm sure if you have a cabrio and wanted something similar you could change the dimensions and still not have to pay art setup.
