Sammio Chevaux in France
Hello,
My name is sebastien, I'm 37 years old, maried and 2 childs (3.5 and 5 years old). I live in France near Lyon. One of my hobby is the collection of old cars, (I've got 10 olds cars, principaly citroen 30's and french cars in the middle of 50's).
Very sorry for my bad level in English, I will try to write in this forum the better than I can.
So, I've discovered the SAMMIO range one year ago and I fond of quickly for the sammio chevaux kit witch use a citroen 2cv donor.
I decided to built a sammio chevaux and I 've got a lot of chance when i find In France a sammio chevaux Kit in the end of december 2012. Few weeks later I bought a 2cv donor in very bad condition but almostly complete.
The pictures now !
Just arrived at home :

a last one with me :
the donor car : one 2cv6 club 1986 in bad condition :
Let's go now !
2H00 later, the donor is like that:
My new wheels : BURTON weels.
My brand new motor (old new stock citroen)

Wow, and a warm welcome to you Sebastian.
It's about time we saw a Chevaux/Pilot CV build on this forum. Looks like you have a cracking donor. I will be following your build with great interest

Now it's time to work on the bodyshell in stock !
You will see that the our garden have a appreciate "birtish touch" also. In fact, I can say that my Sammio isn't very far from britain with a red kiosk K6 also in restoration !!

Many thanks for taking the time to document your build Sebastien. We've sent a few of this kit over to France, Belgium and more recently Norway under its new name of Ribble Pilot CV but have not had the opportunity to see one 'in build'. Please be sure to let us know any problems you encounter on the way so we can react with any changes the frame or shell need at this end.

I try to pu the bodishell on the chassis. The chassis was a little too long : solution : cut the end of the chassis.
My son wanted to help me, it's ok Quentin ?
Andy, you have to modified the rear of the metal kit because the horizontal bar behind the seats is too closer from the dash-board for 7-8cm. It's easy to replace at his good position but this is the only mistake oh the kit. You will see in the beginning pictures that the horizontal bar is in front of the bodyshell near the seat. Normaly this bar schould be Under the bodyshell and not in front. Sorry for the bad explication, my engligh level is not very hight.

Hi, What a fantastic job you are doing with some lovely pictures. This is a very interesting build, as this is the first we have seen using the Citroen donor.
Your English is very good, much better than my French!

Really, really nice! I've been aching to see a Citroen based build for a long time and it looks like you are doing a superb job. While it is obviously different to the Triumph base vehicle i do love some of the Citroen engineering solutions, especially the suspension!
I know from experience that you son will love going in it. mine did in mine
Best of luck with the rest of the build.
Dave
