All lights must be secure whilst in operation. An exception to this is if a work lamp is fitted (all you Dakar boys listen up!)

All lights must be present and working at time of the SVA test.

They all must be of the correct colour

They must all be fitted within guidelines, ie distance from ground, side of car etc.

Measured distance (ie from ground level) is to the edge of the light unit.

Lights must display either an E mark or show an equivalent standard or display that they are of equivalent standard.

Tell-tale indicator lights or audible device missing from direction indicator circuit or tell-tale light missing on hazard warning light circuits.

Front and rear position lights plus rear registration plate light must all be operated from the same switch.

No external lamp fitted can be blue in colour

Headlights must be designed to be used on the left hand side of the road (ie point the right way)

Rear reflectors must be red in colour
